Transducer efficiency study

What IS the transducer?
The transducer is a piece of equipment designed by Audie Perkins in the spring of 2006. By definition, a transducer is a generic name for any item that converts some form of energy into an electric signal, usually to be measured, displayed or recorded. One common example is a digital thermometer. It converts temperature into an electrical signal, which can then be measured and displayed. Our transducer, coupled with an audio recorder, records electromagnetic waves as if they were sound. It is important to repeat that these are electromagnetic waves, not sound waves.
Why should we use this?
Any investigator who has recorded a traditional EVP, has had to stop and wonder how the EVP was transferred to the recorder. Spirits no longer have any of the components necessary for speech: a mouth, larynx or lungs. Yet, we are consistently able to record what we perceive as voices imprinted on various forms of media. The transducer was created working on the theory that entities are somehow able to electronically induce the EVP into the recorder itself, rather than using air vibrations (sound) to do so.
Does this really make sense?
There have been many experiments conducted using two identical digital recorders. These recorders are then placed side by side, with identical omnidirectional microphones. Yet, consistently, only one of the recorders will pick up an EVP. This is one of many reasons to consider these EVP are being electronically induced directly into the recorder.
What about disembodied voices?
The fact that the transducer is producing results in field tests in recording EVP really has done nothing to explain disembodied voices. Remember, EVP are not heard when recorded. Disembodied voices are. That means they must be produced using sound waves, something the transducer does not record. One day, we will hopefully have these answers!
*** Transducer Efficiency Study ***
One definition for the word efficiency is “competency in performance.” Our goal with this study is to gain enough data to determine if the transducer is, in fact, competent in its performance. This will allow us to make improvements and changes to the device as necessary, based on solid information. Participation in the study is completely free, including the use of a transducer during the study participation. We have a limited number of transducers, and are asking teams to submit a letter of interest to TES@insightparanormal.org, so we can select the most compatible teams to participate. Teams requesting to participate should be actively investigating on a consistent basis, investigating no less than twice per month. Once teams are selected, they will receive participation paperwork to review and sign. Upon receipt of the completed paperwork, a transducer will be mailed to the participating team. (Digital recorder not included. You must utilize your own.) The teams will then use the transducer during their routine investigations, and will submit any and all results to INsight, to include in the study statistics. Included with the transducer will be instructions for use, steps to take when reviewing and submitting any gathered EVP, and information that should be included with each data submission.
We are excited about this study! Imagine, if this works, and we come to a new level of understanding on how EVP are recorded and produced, it could revolutionize this particular area of paranormal research and open doors to improved and more advanced methods of study!
